So, here’s what happened: on February 10, 2025, Hafsoh was last seen at a naming ceremony. Eyewitnesses say she stepped outside for a phone call and, well, she just never came back. Naturally, her family was worried sick and filed a missing persons report the next day at the Oja Oba Police Station in Ilorin. This prompted the police to kick off a serious search for her.

Detectives were quick to trace Hafsoh’s last messages, which led them to Ballo’s place in the Offa Garage area of Ilorin. What they found there was horrifying—a gruesome discovery of Hafsoh’s dismembered remains and tools that were likely used in the crime. Ballo initially denied any involvement, but the evidence against him is hard to ignore.

He claims that Hafsoh had an asthma attack while she was at his home. But given what the police found, that statement is definitely under scrutiny. For now, he’s being held at the Kwara State Police Headquarters while the investigation rolls on.

Kwara State Police spokesperson, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, spoke to the media and called the situation “gruesome,” assuring everyone that a thorough investigation is underway. Just the day before, on February 11, 2025, Hafsoh’s father, Mr. Ibrahim A. Lawal, reported her missing, which set off a swift police response and led to the identification and arrest of a suspect. Ejire-Adeyemi promised that more information would be shared as they dig deeper into this case.

The whole community is in shock, really. There’s a growing concern about safety and the risks of meeting people through social media. Ballo, who is the son of a well-known Islamic cleric who passed away not too long ago, is now facing serious charges, and folks are mourning the loss of such a young life in such tragic circumstances.

Hafsoh’s family is heartbroken and is demanding justice. They want a thorough investigation into everything that led to her disappearance. Authorities are being called to keep the public updated to maintain trust and ensure safety.

As the investigation unfolds, many are left wondering how something so horrific could happen in their own backyard. We can expect more updates from the law enforcement in the days ahead.
