Ibrahim, speaking in a serious voice, revealed that the third attempt on the life of Adamu had been made. The other attempts had failed, but in this case, the attackers succeeded. Ibrahim continued and explained that the late chairman was shot several times, and there were gunshot wounds visible on his body everywhere.
“The attackers shot him several times before they fled the scene. Police and military officers moved fast after the shooting, and we were with them in the hospital when he was admitted,” Ibrahim said.
The youth leader also praised Adamu for his contribution to the peacebuilding process in the region, and his death would be deeply felt by the Barkin Ladi community. “His contribution to peacebuilding in the community was invaluable, and his death will be missed terribly,” Ibrahim said. “The loss is not just to his family but to the community in general because he was a key figure in maintaining peace in this region.”
Although the occurrence has left the local community reeling, Plateau State Police authorities have so far remained tight-lipped with no official word at the time of this report. Efforts to get across to DSP Alabo Alfred, the State Police spokesperson, have been unsuccessful, with no word received despite persistent calls.
